Academy

The Commitment

The academy stays deliberately small. We keep only the few who are willing to put in the practice, take on the coaching, and act on the committed changes that actually move scores. A bigger roster would dilute the attention each junior needs, so we keep it tight and serious.

Right now the coach is the main sponsor of the Brooky & Thompson Junior Golf Academy — funding entries, travel, meals and kit out of her own pocket, and not making a penny from it. That can't go on alone forever.

Because we keep only the committed few, your sponsorship goes to juniors who will turn that support into better scores. Here's exactly where it goes:

Tournament entry fees

Every junior open, interprovincial and national championship has an entry fee. Sponsorship covers them so no child misses an event because of cost.

Travel & accommodation

National championships are held in Christchurch, Taupō and beyond. Sponsorship gets juniors to the events that shape their development.

Food & nutrition

Proper fuel on tournament days and during coaching. A fed junior plays a stronger, longer round.

Uniforms & equipment

Academy shirts, caps, balls and clubs. Sponsorship gives every junior the gear they need to look and play like the golfers they are becoming.

Coaching & mentorship

Time on the range, on-course lessons, and the mentorship that turns a keen junior into a composed competitor.

A pathway, not a one-off

Sponsorship keeps a junior in the game for the long haul — from first Futures open to national representation.

Net Report

Three in a row for Jaxtyn

Jaxtyn Daniel backed up his Father’s Day Stableford win with the Titahi Net title — three consecutive net victories at his home course. With David Cook unable to play, David stepped in to caddie the final five holes to help secure the win.

On the Bag

David shows the team spirit

David Cook couldn’t tee it up this week, but he still found a way to contribute — carrying the bag for the closing stretch as Jaxtyn closed out the net title. Mates showing up for one another when it counts is exactly what the academy is built on.

Coming Up

Two junior opens, back to back

The team is back on the road for two junior opens in two days — the Titahi Junior Open and the Karori Junior Open. Entries are open, and the academy juniors are ready to test their games against the region’s best.
