Support our juniors today
Right now the coach is the main sponsor of the Brooky & Thompson Junior Golf Academy — funding entries, travel, meals and kit out of her own pocket, and not making a penny from it. Sponsorship means a junior gets to tee it up, travel to nationals, eat properly on the day, and wear their academy colours with pride.

Every junior open and national championship has an entry fee. Sponsorship covers them so no child misses out.

Make it a Monthly Commitment
Even $20 a month keeps a junior in the game for the long haul — coaching, kit, entries and the support that turns a keen kid into a competitor, season after season. This is the ongoing nature of the game, and it runs on people who show up every month.
Cancel anytime. Every month keeps a junior on the course.
Prefer a bank transfer?
Especially for our overseas supporters — deposit straight into the academy account. Every gift, large or small, keeps a junior on the course.
For international wires, please include the academy address above with your transfer so your bank can complete the payment.
What It Really Takes
Junior golf development is one of the most demanding and most rewarding things a coach can give themselves to. It is not just about teaching a swing. It is about building a person — their patience, their resilience, their ability to handle failure gracefully and success with humility.
For the students who give 110% — the ones who arrive early, stay late, watch their footage, ask the right questions and do the hard yards on their own — the transformation is extraordinary. You watch a shy kid become a competitor. You watch frustration turn into focus. You watch someone discover that they are capable of far more than they ever imagined.
That is what this is all for. Not the trophies. Not the rankings. The moment a young golfer walks onto the first tee and knows, deep down, that they belong there.

The Teachers Who Shaped Me
Lynnette's journey — from New Zealand amateur champion to 9 international wins and sole owner of Pro Golfing Tours Ltd, which took golfers to courses around the world — was built on the foundation laid by a handful of exceptional people. This is a heartfelt thank you to each of them.
Dennis & Sheila Sullivan
First Professional Teachers — Amateur Years
Dennis and Sheila Sullivan were the very first professional teachers who shaped Lynnette's game in her amateur ranks. Everything Dennis gave her, she took forward. Their belief in a young Kiwi girl from Wellington planted the seed that would grow into a career of 9 international wins, back-to-back French Opens, and a lifetime dedicated to the game. Lynnette carries their lessons in every class she teaches today.
Alex Mercer
Australian PGA Immortal & Long-Term Coach — Pro Years
Alex Mercer was Lynnette's long-term coach for the best part of a decade — an Australian PGA Immortal and Life Member widely regarded as the number-one coach in Australasia. For more than forty years Alex taught golfers of every age and ability in Australia and New Zealand, and Lynnette was one of the players he shaped. "Dennis Sullivan and Alex Mercer gave me a lot of insights," she says. Alex first spotted her during the Women's World Cup in Vancouver, and between European Tour events Lynnette would fly down to put her swing back in his hands whenever her game needed rebuilding. To this day she counts him alongside Dennis Sullivan as the biggest influences on her career.
Di Barnard
Tour Coach — Ladies European Tour
At a critical moment on the Ladies European Tour, Di Barnard stepped in, saw what needed to change, and quietly rebuilt Lynnette's game from the inside out. "She's got me back in there and I'm playing much stronger and more confidently," Lynnette said after working with Di ahead of a Spanish Open — which she went on to win. A great coach knows not just the swing, but the person swinging it. Di knew both.
Martin Heys
PGA Fellow Professional — Wexham Park Golf Centre, England
When Lynnette was based in Chalfont St Peter between European Tour events, Wexham Park Golf Centre was just down the road. Martin Heys — PGA Fellow Professional, PGA Advanced Coach, and PGA Director of Golf — became a trusted friend during those years. After flying in from another victory, Lynnette would drop in to see him, and she respected him enormously for the generosity of his time and the depth of his knowledge. A great coach and a great friend.
The New Zealand Golf Community
The Wider Village
Behind every player who makes it to the international stage is a community of club coaches, volunteer administrators, fellow competitors and supporters who gave their time, their courses, and their encouragement. The New Zealand golf community shaped Lynnette as much as any single teacher — and she is now giving every bit of that back through this junior programme, freely and without profit.
Lynnette also sole-owned and directed Pro Golfing Tours Ltd — a golf consultancy and travel company that took players and golf lovers to courses around the world. Built entirely on her own, it stands as a testament to what one person can create when they combine a love of the game with a willingness to back themselves completely. Today, that same independence drives everything she gives to her junior students — on her own terms, for their benefit alone.
"The ones who commit 110% don't just become better golfers.
They become better people."
— Lynnette Brooky
